-Three Memoriums From Alan Gilbert-

Hello, everyone. It took a little while longer than expected (thank you, hurricane Irma) but I am back to posting again and hopefully, even though hurricane season extends into November, that is it for the bad weather this year.
I had a chance to do a lot of catch-up reading and one article that I found of particular interest was a survey of how Americans felt things were going around the world. While the survey was done in America, many of our Comx Box contributing editors and readers are from other countries. I wonder if the sentiment expressed in the survey might apply to your countries and citizens as well? In the survey, 56% of the people polled felt that "the world was going to hell in a handbasket."
I guess that I am in the 44% who don't feel this way. Believe me, and those of you who know me can confirm, I don't look at the world through rose-colored glasses. It can be very hard and dangerous out there. But I believe that it has always been hard and dangerous. I believe that there were no "good ol' days, but rather, these are the good old days. The world is full of wonder, discovery, opportunity, and information at levels previously undreamed of.
Instead of the good ol' days, would you like to hear about the "bad ol' days? That would be the day that a scout rode into your village and told everyone that Attila the Hun was just over the next hill. Throughout history, there have always been Attilas. Even more so, there have always been problems. We, as a species, have never been in a better position to solve them.
Thank you for your support and have a good week.
Tom

One More From Jordan...
I watched this cartoon over a dozen times as a kid and there is a good chance you may have also seen it. Here are two parts of the whole. A true classic. Enjoy.
